In the community

Bonmarché have been a registered charity partner of Macmillan Cancer Support for 19 years and have raised £3.8 million to date. The money raised is used to support those affected by cancer in the form of patient grants.

Macmillan grants provide much needed financial support for people living with cancer by helping them to pay their travel fare for hospital appointments, pay their fuel bills or even to enable them to purchase essential household items such as washing machines or microwaves.

Every year we hold numerous events in support of Macmillan as well as selling branded goods, such as t-shirts, scarves and pin badges, of which a percentage of all sales go directly to Macmillan. We also support Breast Cancer Now for the month of October every year. Each of our 325 stores takes part in our fundraising for both charities by hosting fashion events, raffles and tombola’s, cake sales, walks, community events as well as selling charity scarves and t-shirts.

Go Mad Go Green 2018

Each store and head office turned itself green for our Macmillan ‘Go Mad Go Green’ event this year.

With a green theme to everything they did, each site hosted events, encouraged sponsorship as well as arranging sponsored walks in the local community.

Macmillan Coffee Morning – September 2018

Each year Bonmarché take part in the biggest Macmillan event the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

All 325 stores and the staff at head office host bake sales, run raffles, dress up for sponsorship and have a great day raising money for Macmillan.

Whilst Macmillan is the main charity on which we focus, we also support various local community projects, and in 2017/2018 this saw the distribution centre donate clothing to the Grange Moor Community Project and collect for a local welfare centre in Huddersfield.
